Hi! I am Suchismita Sahoo. Thanks for stopping by. An Eternal Escape is a travel blog and it is all about sharing the experiences of my travel through written and photographic memory. I love to capture even the tiniest beautiful details that I encounter during my visits. I love to learn about the culture, cuisine & traditions of a region. History and nature attract me to a place. An Eternal Escape gives me a platform to commemorate these memories and thereby help others to make their own memories.
Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. Life is too short to be anything but happy. I believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance – take it. If it changes your life – let it. It wouldn’t be easy but it will be worth it.
I am a researcher by degree and profession, born and brought up in India. I love art and anything creative or DIY. I consider myself a compulsive organizer and an obsessive reader. My years of Ph.D. and working as a Scientist have instilled in me the basic nature of extensive researching before an endeavor. These are certain areas that I believe helped me when I first set out as an independent traveler to explore new places or destinations.
Even though travelling started fairly early for me when I was young, as my family loved to travel; it was after buying a travel book in an airport, “The 100 most romantic destinations in the world”, that changed my entire perception, ideas and aspirations related to travel (more on that later). But it was after marrying, shifting to Sweden and having a baby, that the course of my life changed. Having time in my hand, I was able to devote my readings and research towards the places that I wanted to visit. And thus started my Journey of visiting 50 cities in 18 different countries (and still counting) excluding visits in my native land.
As much as I love reading, I have always loved penning down my thoughts even more. An Eternal Escape is a diary of my journey towards my creative, spiritual and wondrous-self.
The name “An Eternal Escape” was inspired by my ideas and belief associated with travel. I believe travel is all things eternal and all things imaginable. It opens up our minds to how small a place we occupy in the vast array of the universe. It allows us to escape petty things in life.
An Eternal Escape is a reminder to ourselves “To travel as far as you can”, “As much as you can” & “As long as you can”, as Life is meant to be explored.
An Eternal Escape can help you decide your next quest and your next adventure. It can help you design your travel itinerary to suit your limited time and type of budget. It will guide you through the process of enjoying a place at your pace. It will act as a forum to get all information at one place without having you spend your time and effort. It will take you through stories that I learned through my experiences and frames that I froze, for you to get a better picture of your next endeavor. Most importantly, it will help you create memories that will last a lifetime.
